(see this users gallery) This dog was found running loose in the back woods of buchanan georgia, she was trapped and brougth to a shelter 30 miles from the breeders house.. Our Pals place saved her from this shelter and contacted ovcharka rescue, since she was docked and cropped she was ID as a Ovcharka.
But we were confused since she has Estrela features and colorings.
Later DNA challenge for her litter mate
Maxomagic Diamond rio proved her father was
Karabas Bonck my Bonck A Estrela mountain dog , her mother MOM Peaches and NOT the CAS sire on Diamond rios papers.
Diamond Rio got a Jr Rarities title in Feb 08,
The breeder Refused to return the many emails from
pals place, and has NOT informed Rarities as of this date or the owner of the results of the DNA test done on 3 Males and one female.
Puppies from this litter were DUMPED at Petco by Steve Nash son and Victoria evans came by later to issue papers for these dogs.
She now claims the TREE that fell is why she does NOT know where the pups are.
Fact Tree fell summer 07, pups papers were not issued to 2008.
It is sad we all make mistakes but some try to hide it. |

Emmie's Story
In April of 2008, Sandy Adock (OPP K9 Manager & Intake Team) met a funny looking dog at Douglas County Animal Control. A large, earless shepherd had been caught in a trap and picked up as a stray by animal control. Although this girl was very shy, Sherri -a volunteer at Douglas County - thought Emmie would be a great dog for OPP, and she is!
Emmie was terrified of cars and had to be picked up and placed in the SUV when pulled from Douglas County. She had a stressful ride back to OPP but settled in well. Her charming personality and playful nature soon overshadowed her shyness. The funny thing is upon Emmie's arrival to OPP, she was named "Emmett" because Douglas County listed her as male. It wasn't until one of our volunteers was giving "Emmett" a belly rub and discovered that "Emmett" was really "Emmie"!
A month or so after becoming settled at OPP, Emmie began to show signs of stress when guests were shown into the facility. Emmie displayed all of the characteristics of a flock protection breed. Sandy contacted Anatolian Shepherd Rescue to gain some insight into flock protectors, and they identified her as a Caucasian Ovcharka. Sandy was then placed in contact with a wonderful representative of Caucasian Ovcharka Rescue who did some additional research for us and identified Emmie as a Central Asian Ovcharka.
Ovcharkas are not common in the States. They are very closely tied to their heritage and to the task they are bred to perform-guard and protect. Emmie is repaying the kindness we’ve shown her by guarding OPP and protecting its volunteers. Our task now is to teach Emmie that our OPP guests are invited and welcome. With new training procedures in place, Emmie is quickly learning to accept guests into OPP.
